From March, 1970 until May, 1973, Mr. Brierton served on active duty as an United States Marine. During that period, he was stationed in North
Carolina as well as aboard ship and overseas in two infantry battalions and other units. Mr. Brierton's duties took him to Cuba; Okinawa, Japan; the
Philippines and Vietnam. He volunteered for duty prior to his enrollment in law school. Mr. Brierton was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1976,
a few months after he began his practice as an attorney.
